Camping in the Yard

Dad might be taking A and L camping next weekend with some friends so he did a trial run in the yard last Friday. We went to the store to stock up on smore's items and fire starter then got to work. Dad lit our first fire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows for A and L, which they loved! I accidentally bought too much chocolate and have had to eat the left overs all weekend. Bummer!! Then the three of them slept in the tent. Dad said they had trouble sleeping away from the corner, which made him nervous that they could suffocate. Next time we will give them pillows to mark the spot for their heads...

The children were so excited to go to sleep in the tent, Dad had to remind them to get books to read. Maybe if we turn their room into a giant tent they will be eager to sleep inside as well...
