Ry turns 2

He is now our wonderful two year old! He is still sweet as ever and loves to be a helper. Recently he has learned the word "no" and uses it multiple times a day. It is his first response but then he will usually do what you ask of him. He still loves his baby sister and wants to do exactly what Ash and Lil do. He has been able to climb up the ladder to the top bunk to play with his older siblings. He fell off once, but only from the second rung, and he slid down the ladder instead of falling back onto his head. It was still scary but thankfully he didn't get hurt.

He has been telling us when he has to go potty. Sometimes he brings it up while he is going but he is trying. He is our latest potty trainer so far. He said his longest unprompted sentence the other day "Go play Dop Laurel". All while doing the sign for play. Yes, he loves to go next door and visit with Tom and Laurel. for some reason he can say Laurel clear as day but can't say Tom. We can get him to say "T T T T Dob, T T T T Dom" but never Tom. His language is improving. We can understand certain things he says, mainly if they are in context.

Rylan still loves bikes and really wants to ride one though he can't seem to petal with each foot independent of each other. He tries hard though. He loves to have us watch him jump over things and on the trampoline. He still loves cards, shuffling and holding. Now he likes to play little people uno and does an OK job of matching the colors or different people. Even though I let him win he wants to keep playing. We played 8 times in a row yesterday before I had to distract him so I could quit playing.

Rylan loves walking to school to get Ashton and Lilly. I was surprised that he could walk the whole way there and back, 1 mile total, without complaining. He spots everything and names all the rocks, birds, dogs, trees, and anything else he can see. It takes us a very long time to walk to school but he really enjoys doing it. He loves his John Deere hat and wears it most days. He had a blast the other day shoveling compost out of the truck and into the garden. Maybe it was because of the dirt, standing in the back of the truck, helping to shovel, or just hanging out with his best friend Tom.

Pictures are totally out of order but you get the idea. I don't have time right now to organize them. Sorry. My favorite one is the one with his fingers wrapped in his hair, a sure sign he is tired. Also notice the blue cake batter. That is what he wanted for his birthday. It sure seemed like a waste of organic ingredients once I added all that blue dye but it was his birthday.
