We have had a busy few weeks. R has decided that once you have 6 teeth you need to crawl all over the place. He tries to race A and L as they run down the hallway and around the kitchen wall. It is pretty cute as he is not that quick so he ends up just going down the hall and back. R loves to throw his bo-bo and chase it. He also will toss a ball and crawl after it. He has been seen using his bo-bo to push a ball as well. R is pulling up on anything and everything. Most of the time he can't figure out how to get back onto the floor so he cries. Sometimes he travels around whatever he is holding onto. The best trick he has is going up the steps. He gets up the bottom two until where the stairs turn and gets stuck on the small landing.
L is doing well at home with me while A is in school. We started volunteering at the local Nursing Home today. We get there at 9:30 and spend a half hour pushing residents to the activity center for mass. After a 20 minute service, we push them back to their rooms. L did such a good job. After alot of encouragement in the car on the way over, she was not shy when the ladies would speak to her. She would respond to their questions and answer appropriately. It did help that the only two questions were "What is your name (insert cute pet name)?" and "What is your baby's name?" (She carried her baby doll in her sling the whole time we were there. ) She also held hands when asked. She is looking forward to going there again next month to help out.
A, as you can imagine, is doing great in school. We are now past the bullying and are recovering nicely. Sadly, one of the other peer models in his class is leaving at the end of the month so there will be a different dynamic at school. Hopefully we can overcome it quickly. His teachers are now saying they see him becoming right hand dominate, though he did his homework with his left hand today. We are not sure if it is a mid line issue or just easier to do things with both hands as they are equal.
We went to a new park this weekend and had a picnic with our cousins. The park was next to an open field that the parachuters were landing on. Every now and they we would look up and see them sailing down. We got to the landing site to watch a couple land and the children got a kick out of that. The adults felt the pain of the parachuters when we watched them pack up their chutes and hike back up the foothill. Yes, they hiked up until they were tiny dots they jumped off the ledge and opened their chutes. What a crazy way to have fun!
