Dad and I decided we were sick of getting up with her every hour to wipe her, give her a doll, reposition a blanket, put her in time-out for screaming uncontrollably, or to find her water cup, so we bribed her.
Actually, we told her three days ago she was no longer allowed to yell for us in the middle of the night. We reminded her all day and right before bedtime and it worked. She slept all night long. In case you missed that, she slept ALL night long. We were so excited we gave her and A new cars (pretend ones but they move). She was super excited and surprised about the car (probably as surprised as we were when we got a good night sleep!)!
We reminded her again the next day and before bed and she did it again! She has a cough but she isn't getting up crying or anything. Because of this, she is even wiping herself during the day (sorry if too much information) and then washing her hands on her own without help. Maybe we just needed to let her know that we thought she was really a big girl.
We are not sure of the reasons she is complying with our rules, but why didn't we try this 3 years ago?
