R is a movin and a shakin

This past week R has gotten more daring on the stairs. He used to just go up the first couple and get stuck, not often though. Until yesterday, he could only make it up the big three at the bottom before the turn to go straight up. I have found him numerous times the past couple days trying to climb the straight part, to no avail. Yesterday though, our world changed. He was on a mission of some sort and made it all the way up. He faltered a couple times but nothing serious. He mostly would slide his foot a bit if it didn't reach the top. I was shocked as I followed him all the way. When he got to the top he crawled straight into the dining room and started to scavenge for hidden cheerios.

R has loved to dance lately. He loves the hokey pokey elmo and will shake and groove with him. He is still pulling up on anything and everything. As I type, he has pulled up on the desk and taken the mouse and mousepad. He loves to push things around and can stand alone for a tad bit but is not totally confident. Now that he has been "walking" about, his little bow-legged leg has turned and straightened out to a more normal level. Since Dad is bow-legged, I won't expect R's leg to straighten completely.

R now is doing well with his sign language also. He claps when he wants more and shakes his head no when you give him the wrong food, then he swipes the table clean and asks for more again. So he is not a clean eater! When we say grace at dinner he holds his hands together or claps the whole time. Super cute! R is working on the sign for eat but responds to baba for bottle and will repeat that. He loves the sign for milk but would rather repeat baba. Mama and Dada is still tricky but we are still working on it.
