We had enough snow this weekend that Daddy went out and bought sleds for the children. We walked across the street and introduced A and L to the thrills of sledding. As we walked over to the top of the hill A was complaining about being tired but we had to drag him off the hill over an hour later. He did a great job of walking back up the hill by himself. He only stumbled a few times. Those stumbles encouraged him to pick up a snowball and take it down the run in the sled and then carry it back up. I think the snowball had fun sledding... L on the other hand was not as amused with going fast down the hill on a piece of plastic with snow getting in your face. She went down once with Daddy, waited a half hour, and then once with me. She was more content to sit at the top and watch.
Our little dog was amusing during our sledding adventure. Both dogs barked as soon as they saw us cross the street but the little one decided to do something about it. I looked up and saw her in the neighbors yard. Yes, she jumped the fence! Then a while later she was at the fence to the open space trying to get in. Yes, she jumped the fence out of the neighbors yard. Daddy went to take her back to our yard but returned with both dogs. He hooked them up to a sled and they took Daddy and L for a ride. It was pretty funny to watch as the dogs pulled the sled through the snow. They soon got tired and Daddy got out. L kept saying "again, again" and the dogs pulled her around while A and I slid down the hill.
A loved sledding! After a couple runs he was going solo. Momma was scared, especially after our neighbor wiped out and had snow packed between her glasses and her eyes, but he did great. He held on tight and did not wreck once. Since we can see the hill from our house I have a feeling we will be sledding a lot this winter.
Note: Don't go sledding with a thin plastic sled when 26 weeks pregnant. You will be sore later!
